Process Engineer Industrial Water & Wastewater Systems
Location: United States (Remote) | Work model: 100% remote; periodic travel to the engineering office and project sites | Full-time
Own multi-million-dollar treatment systems concept to commissioning. Fully remote.
THE OPPORTUNITY
One of two top-priority engineering hires forming the nucleus of a scaling team, open fully remote anywhere in the United States. The Process Engineer spearheads the end-to-end lifecycle of multi-million-dollar industrial treatment systems: conceptual and detailed design, applied R&D, field startup, and live-asset optimization. A former-engineer Group CEO is personally engaged in this hire. The honest version: remote does not mean desk-bound. Startups, commissioning, and live troubleshooting put you on industrial sites when systems come online, and the systems are operating assets with real consequences rather than studies.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Process Design First principles. Process calculations, mass balances, PFDs, and P&IDs for full-scale systems. Technology selection. Match technologies to application chemistry, conditions, and lifecycle economics.
- Applied R&D & Validation Prove it. Bench- and pilot-scale evaluations that validate designs and commercialize technology. Data fluency. Read real-time operational data, diagnose anomalies, defend the fix.
- Startup & Optimization Commissioning. On-site startups, sampling protocols, operator training. Live optimization. Troubleshoot and tune systems in service.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Complete, accurate, on-schedule design packages.
- Successful startups and commissioning outcomes.
- Validated performance against guaranteed outcomes.
- Quality of pilot and bench evidence behind commercial proposals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
BS or BE in Chemical, Environmental, or Process engineering; Chemical preferred. Experience designing, optimizing, and pricing complex industrial water or wastewater processes. Field credibility with client operations teams. Exceptional autonomy - a remote seat on a lean team, judged on output.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
Bench/pilot R&D tied to commercial deployment. High-purity, process water, or specialist wastewater exposure in regulation-driven sectors.
