Job Title: Business Analyst Senior – Workday Financials / VNDLY
Role/Job Summary: We are looking for a Business Analyst Senior to act as a liaison among stakeholders, eliciting, analyzing, communicating, and validating requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. The role's primary focus is understanding business problems and opportunities and recommending solutions that help the organization achieve its goals. Working under the general direction of a Business Analyst Manager/Program Manager, this person will lead and direct analysis activities for high-priority projects requiring a high degree of functional integration, with a specific focus on the Workday Financials module (including its sub-modules).
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Prepare for and conduct requirements elicitation sessions using techniques such as brainstorming, interviews, surveys, requirements workshops, observation, task/workflow analysis, prototyping, storyboarding, document analysis, interface analysis, and focus groups. Document elicitation results and validate with stakeholders to ensure stated requirements align with their understanding.
- Requirements Analysis: Work with stakeholders, sponsors, and the project manager to prioritize requirements and agree on assumptions and constraints. Organize, model, and specify requirements with the appropriate level of detail given complexity, risk, and audience. Work with stakeholders, sponsors, and the project team to verify and validate requirements through structured review.
- Requirements Management & Communication: Write requirements specifications using standard templates, in clear, simple, unambiguous, and concise language. Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional and nonfunctional requirements suitable for project team use. Represent requirements using alternative views (models/diagrams) where appropriate. Communicate requirements to ensure shared stakeholder understanding and secure approvals from authorized stakeholders. Manage issues and changes to baselined requirements, assessing business impact and applying change control processes. Manage requirements traceability to ensure alignment with project goals and with development/testing plans, and maintain documentation for reuse.
- Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring: Work with the project sponsor, stakeholders, and project manager to document product vision and project/product scope. Conduct stakeholder analysis to identify roles or systems impacted by, or impacting, requirements. Identify appropriate representatives for each user group and their involvement in the requirements process. Determine appropriate elicitation techniques, deliverables, and stakeholder time needed, and document this in a requirements work plan covering approach, scope, communication plan, deliverables, and BA tasks.
- Solution Assessment & Validation: Work with the project team to ensure proposed solutions align with requirements and maximize stakeholder value. Define requirements for transitioning from an existing solution to a new one. Define acceptance criteria, perform gap analysis on proposed solutions, and make recommendations. Work with the project team to evaluate the impact of defects and develop resolution/mitigation plans.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 7–10 years of business analysis experience working in a development environment.
- Hands-on experience capturing requirements from business stakeholders for the Workday Financials module, including its sub-modules; experience creating BRDs and features in ADO/Agile, and walking through requirements during refinement sessions with larger Scrum teams.
- Workday integrations experience (Studio, Extend, EIB).
- Agile experience, preferably in SAFe Agile.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Knowledge of defect tracking processes and tools.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and consult effectively with employees at all levels.
- Strong interviewing, listening, observation, and oral communication skills to surface essential requirements information.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish requirements from solution ideas and underlying needs.
- Facilitation, organizational, and time-management skills to lead elicitation workshops and manage multiple tasks and rapidly changing information.
- Excellent writing, modeling, and interpersonal skills to communicate requirements and negotiate priorities across internal and external stakeholders.
- General knowledge of business and IT systems, with strong attention to detail, motivation, and initiative.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
- Financial services or accounting industry experience.
- Experience with financial systems, and developing user-based, GUI, and web-based applications.
- Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed.

- Experience working with third-party and vendor relationships.
- Experience with both structured and object-oriented analysis techniques.
- Proven experience in operational business process improvement.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and other tools supporting fact-based decisions.
- Previous experience leading a group of 2–3 business analysts; experience mentoring or providing guidance/instruction to other BAs, or providing performance feedback as a team lead.
Experience Required:
