Job Title: Activation Project Manager

Position Summary

Anchor Planning is seeking an experienced Activation Project Manager to lead healthcare activation, operational readiness, transition planning, and move management services for clients engaged in new construction, renovation, expansion, and replacement facility projects. The Activation Project Manager serves as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, clinical leaders, project teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout the planning and activation lifecycle. This role is responsible for developing activation strategies, managing project delivery, facilitating stakeholder engagement, overseeing transition logistics, and ensuring organizational readiness for occupancy and go-live.

The successful candidate is a highly organized and client-focused professional with healthcare project management experience, a strong understanding of hospital operations, and the ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. This individual will provide subject matter expertise, contribute to the development of best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead healthcare activation, transition, move management, and operational readiness projects from planning through occupancy and stabilization.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, activation schedules, readiness assessments, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Monitor project performance and provide clear and consistent reporting to clients, project leadership, and stakeholders.
• Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and are completed within expected timeframes.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional client service.

Activation & Operational Readiness

• Develop and implement activation and operational readiness strategies for hospitals, outpatient facilities, clinics, and healthcare campuses.
• Lead activation planning efforts to ensure clinical, operational, and support departments are prepared for occupancy and go-live.
• Coordinate readiness assessments, workflow validation, training activities, activation drills, simulations, and command center planning.
• Facilitate activation planning meetings and readiness reviews with key stakeholders.
• Identify operational gaps and coordinate mitigation strategies to achieve activation milestones.

Transition & Move Management

• Develop and manage detailed transition, logistics, occupancy, and move schedules.
• Coordinate move sequencing and department relocation activities across healthcare facilities.
• Manage move-related vendors, consultants, and service providers to support activation objectives.
• Coordinate activities involving facilities, information technology, medical equipment, interiors, environmental services, biomed, security, supply chain, and signage teams.
• Provide on-site leadership during move events, activation activities, and go-live periods.

Stakeholder Engagement & Client Advisory

• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned projects and activation activities.
• Build strong relationships with executives, clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, workgroups, and planning sessions.
• Prepare presentations, executive summaries, meeting minutes, dashboards, and project reports.
• Function as a trusted advisor by providing recommendations, industry best practices, and operational insights.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve client satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.

Risk Management & Problem Resolution

• Identify project risks, concerns, and barriers early in the planning process.
• Develop mitigation strategies and facilitate issue resolution with project stakeholders.
• Escalate critical risks and issues appropriately while maintaining project momentum.
• Direct corrective action when necessary to maintain project objectives and timelines.

Continuous Improvement & Subject Matter Expertise

• Serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare activation, operational readiness, transition planning, and move management.
• Research emerging industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of organizational tools, templates, processes, and methodologies.
• Share lessons learned and best practices across project teams.
• Support the development and implementation of standardized project delivery processes.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of healthcare project management, activation, transition planning, operational readiness, logistics, construction, or move management experience.
• Experience supporting complex healthcare projects involving hospitals, ambulatory facilities, medical office buildings, or healthcare systems.
• Strong understanding of hospital operations and departmental interdependencies.
• Experience leading stakeholder meetings, project workgroups, and executive presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting hospital activations, replacement hospitals, facility openings, or major healthcare renovations.
• Experience with Epic implementations, go-live planning, or healthcare technology deployments.
• Experience working with academic medical centers and integrated health systems.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements.
