DISTRICT SALES MANAGER – CENTRAL & EASTERN CANADA

Grow your territory with the technical expertise and reach of a global organization behind you.

You enjoy understanding a customer’s business, getting into the technical details, and finding opportunities to help their equipment perform better. You want responsibility for developing a territory and the support of colleagues who can help turn customer needs into practical solutions.

As District Sales Manager at Poclain Hydraulics, you’ll manage and grow customer and distributor relationships across Central and Eastern Canada. You’ll build on existing partnerships, pursue new business, and connect customers with hydraulic and motion-control solutions suited to their applications.

You’ll combine regional market knowledge with the resources of a global manufacturing organization. Working with application engineering, R&D, and colleagues across Poclain, you’ll exchange expertise, deepen your technical knowledge, and bring the right people into customer conversations.

Your work will take you from early discussions about equipment requirements through proposals, negotiations, and ongoing account development. You’ll have the opportunity to shape your territory’s growth and see your efforts reflected in successful applications and lasting customer relationships.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop your territory. Build and execute a sales plan for Ontario and Quebec, identifying target customers, market opportunities, and priorities for profitable growth.
  • Win new business. Prospect, qualify leads, and identify new customers and equipment applications where Poclain can deliver value.
  • Grow existing relationships. Understand customers’ operations, business priorities, and future needs, and develop account plans that support long-term partnerships.
  • Connect customer needs with technical solutions. Work with application engineering and other specialists to develop recommendations and proposals.
  • Strengthen distributor partnerships. Establish shared goals, develop target account lists, identify training needs, review performance, and conduct joint customer visits.
  • Lead commercial discussions. Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and terms within established guidelines, and close business while protecting margin.
  • Follow through for customers. Coordinate with engineering, quality, logistics, and accounting to address issues and support customer satisfaction.
  • Manage business performance. Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline, prepare sales forecasts, monitor market trends, and deliver against sales objectives.
  • Support global customer relationships. Partner with key account teams to coordinate regional activities and provide a consistent customer experience.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You’re comfortable discussing an application with an engineer, exploring an opportunity with a distributor, and negotiating with purchasing. You ask thoughtful questions, explain the value of your recommendations, and follow through on commitments.

Your background includes:

  • Technical sales or business development experience involving hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, or related industrial products.
  • An understanding of mobile equipment applications and the fluid power distribution channel.
  • Experience building lasting customer and distributor relationships.
  • The ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into a clear business case.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to plan customer activity, manage competing priorities, and work independently across a geographic territory.
  • A collaborative approach to working with technical specialists and colleagues across functions and locations.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.

Regular travel is part of this role, primarily throughout Ontario and Quebec, for customer meetings, distributor visits, and joint sales calls.
