Position Details:

Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Burnsville, MN
Duration: Aug. 17, 2026 to June 3, 2027
Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
Position Type: Contract
Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Student Age Group: ECSE/Elementary/Middle school

Responsibilities:

Provide specially designed instruction and support based on student IEPs
Implement behavior plans, classroom structures, and routines
Support students with academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
Develop and adapt instructional strategies based on student needs
Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
Collaborate with special education and general education teachers
Coordinate and collaborate with paraprofessionals
Participate in IEP meetings and other special education processes
Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment
Demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license in at least one of the following areas: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS)
Special education classroom experience
Behavioral intervention and behavior-management strategies
Experience with behavior plans
EBD or cross-categorical settings
Center-based special education
Resource programs
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Experience coordinating paraprofessionals
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
