The Site Supervisor leads efforts to ensure Hildebrand's shelters are nurturing, welcoming, trauma-informed environments that support families in improving their circumstances and achieving permanent housing.
We are looking for people to partner with us to achieve our goal of disrupting the cycle of homelessness for greater Boston families.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the operational leader of assigned shelter site(s) and is responsible for the overall site-control, safety, security, compliance, emergency preparedness, day-to-day operations, staffing, and service delivery of congregate, consolidated, and scattered site programs.
- Provide leadership and oversight of all case management, rehousing, employment, self-sufficiency, and supportive service activities delivered at the site.
- Supervise site staff including Housing Case Managers and Residential Assistants, leading intensive service coordination efforts for families with complex needs, serving as the site's Employment Coordinator, supporting Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking (DVSAHT) response efforts, and ensuring compliance with all Hildebrand and EOHLC requirements.
- Partner with the Director of Shelter Services to develop and implement programming that addresses the needs of both children and adults residing in shelter, promoting housing stability and economic mobility, and support successful transition to permanent housing.
- Be a representative and ambassador of Hildebrand, modeling professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to service at all times.
What You Will Need To Bring:
- Education - BA/BS Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management or related field; Preferred - Masters degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.
- Experience – 3 to 5 years of experience in a human service environment preferably within family shelter or housing services is required, along with 3 to 5 years of proven effective supervisory experience.
- Skills – Demonstrated ability to provide Case Management/Clinical support to the Homeless; Demonstrated ability to evaluate and determine subordinates’ training needs; Demonstrated ability to motivate staff to work effectively; Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgment in handling confidential information; Must be compassionate and patient and continually exhibit a commitment to helping homeless families help themselves.
