This is an on-campus position that may be officed at either the Gila Pueblo Campus (Globe) or the Payson Campus.
Essential Functions
- Ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate office equipment, machines, and materials. Some whole-body movement such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, carrying objects and handling materials may be required.
- Ability to provide effective assistance in a professional manner to College stakeholders in a variety of business environments requiring critical thinking, organization, and the use of interpersonal and communication skills.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION OR INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT
- Reports to the VP of Business Operations.
- Performs duties under indirect supervision following procedures, instructions, directions, and training given.
- Independent decision making is expected in some areas; collaboration is expected in others.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Human Resources Professional is expected to perform any or all duties listed below in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Provide College-wide coordination of and active involvement in recruitment, new-hire employment processes, and ongoing employment processes of faculty, administrators, and staff.
- Administer the College’s Flexible Benefit program and all benefit opportunities for employees.
- Assist with the development of the annual operating budget, placing a priority and critical focus on all aspects of the Personnel portion of the budget.
- Participate in and support College administration activities as required including, but not limited to strategic planning and assessment, IPEDS reporting, various personnel data compilation processes and reporting, audit processes, and committee service.
- Develop and maintain employment records through the HRIS platform; develop and maintain position inventories, personnel policies and procedures, and employee handbooks as needed.
- Provide critical personnel/payroll information and data to the Payroll Specialist and work closely with the Payroll Specialist to process accurate and timely payroll disbursements.
- Monitor and coordinate compliance with federal and State employment laws, including, but not limited to Americans with Disabilities Act, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, Titles VI, VII, and IX of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, and various Executive Orders.
- Coordinate employee evaluation activities.
- Develop and administer employee training programs and initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of the responsibilities, processes, and employee information.
- Perform similar duties not specifically listed as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that will enable success in position responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Relations/Resources, Business, Finance, Employment Law, or closely related major.
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in human resources operations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work effectively independently and as a member of various work groups.
- Direct experience developing budgets and contracts.
- Knowledge of and experience operating within the guidelines of myriad employment related laws and regulations.
- Experience in developing policies and procedures, employee training initiatives, and onboarding/orientation processes.
- Proficiency using MS365 and other information technologies and platforms to effectively manage recordkeeping, data accumulation and reporting, and critical information communication processes.
- Ability to pass a background screening process and/or obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is necessary.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Certification as a PHR or SPHR through the Society for Human Resource Management.
- Experience utilizing a multi-faceted Human Resources Information System platform including payroll integration; knowledge of the ADP Workforce Platform preferred, but not required.
- Experience working in Human Resources or a closely related department in an educational organization.
- Familiarity with and understanding of safe work practices particularly when performing general physical activities within an office environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in a typical office environment within generally climate-controlled structures. Exposure to moderate noise levels is anticipated. Exposure to moderate to heavy office traffic levels with possible frequent interruptions is anticipated. Substantial computer and/or electronic equipment use is expected. Operation of standard office equipment involves repetitive fine motor-skills.
