Dsp - direct support professional

Position information:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at Shangri La. As a DSP, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. DSP's interact directly with clients, and this position is an attractive option for people who are interested in healthcare as a career.

Position Details:

• Status: Full Time and On Call/Relief available
• Location: Salem, OR
• Starting wage: $20.14 an hour (Night shifts additional $.75 an hour)
• Wage Scale: $20.14 - $24.50

What You'll Do:

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy home environment
• Provide compassionate care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Meal and snack preparation
• Light household duties
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance
• Administer medications
• Accompany clients to community outings and activities (fun day trips!)

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must pass a background check
• Have a valid driver's license (for Day or Swing shifts) and clean driving record
