About Pursuit

Pursuit is a social impact organization building the future of economic mobility in the age of AI. For over a decade, we’ve transformed lives through immersive training programs that propel adults from low-income backgrounds - often without college degrees - into high-growth tech careers. Our graduates have already generated nearly $1 billion in lifetime wage gains. We’ve also pioneered the Pursuit Bond, an innovative outcomes-based financing model that aligns investor returns with long-term economic mobility, allowing us to scale impact in a financially sustainable way.

Now, as AI reshapes every industry, Pursuit is evolving into an AI-native organization. We’re training AI-native talent, embedding AI into our operations, and building scalable software to extend our impact. From grassroots partnerships to national policy, we’re not just filling jobs - we’re rethinking how economic opportunity works at scale.

About the Role

Our programs have grown through deep community trust, strong partnerships, and operational excellence. We're looking for a Community Development Associate who will take ownership of the day-to-day recruitment funnel - leading information sessions and workshops, obsessing over applicant volume and conversion at every stage, and making sure every prospective Builder has an amazing experience from first contact through enrollment.

While our Director of Growth and Community Development sets the overall recruitment strategy, this role owns execution: you're the person driving applicants through the funnel day to day, running the room at info sessions, and constantly looking for ways to convert more prospective Builders into enrolled Builders. We care less about years of experience and more about mindset - someone who takes real ownership of their numbers, is relentless about follow-through, and treats every applicant interaction as a chance to make a great impression of Pursuit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Recruitment Funnel
    • Take ownership of applicant volume and conversion at each stage of the funnel, and drive toward enrollment targets set by the Director
    • Track applicant and enrollment data closely, and proactively flag drop-off points or bottlenecks before they become problems
    • Maintain dashboards and trackers that give the team a real-time read on funnel health
    • Treat enrollment targets as your targets - know the numbers cold and push to hit them
  • Lead Info Sessions & Recruitment Events
    • Plan and personally lead information sessions and workshops for prospective Builders
    • Own event logistics end to end, from scheduling and staffing to day-of execution
    • Continuously refine the info session experience based on what's converting and what isn't
    • Represent Pursuit with energy and credibility in front of a room of prospective applicants
  • Deliver an Amazing Applicant Experience
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective Builders throughout the admissions process
    • Drive timely, warm, and persistent follow-up so no applicant falls through the cracks
    • Coordinate outreach communications (email, text, social) tailored to where an applicant is in the funnel
    • Make every touchpoint- from first contact to enrollment—feel personal and well-run
  • Use AI to Move Faster
    • Use AI tools to automate routine recruitment and admissions tasks (e.g., applicant follow-ups, data cleanup, scheduling)
    • Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive parts of the enrollment process and bring ideas to the team
    • Experiment with new AI-powered tools to get more out of the funnel with the same amount of time

About you

  • Have experience in recruitment, admissions, operations, sales, customer-facing work, or a related field
  • Genuinely want to own a number and feel restless until you've hit it
  • Are energized by speaking in front of a room and can lead an info session with confidence and warmth
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on commitments
  • Are comfortable working with data and spreadsheets to track and act on performance
  • Are a clear, warm communicator who can put applicants at ease
  • Are curious about AI and eager to use AI tools to work more efficiently
  • Can manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Mission driven: are passionate about expanding economic opportunity and supporting historically underserved communities
