Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Roads Coordinator (Saudi National) to join our Team!

The Roads Coordinator will coordinate the planning, engineering, construction, and interface activities associated with roadworks across the Airport / Infrastructure / Airfield project. The role will ensure that road construction activities are properly coordinated between design, construction, utilities, drainage, traffic, surveying, QA/QC, and other project disciplines.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Coordinate roadworks activities across the project with Engineering, Construction, Planning, Utilities, Drainage, Survey, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
  • Review road design drawings, specifications, profiles, sections, details, and construction requirements.
  • Coordinate road design interfaces with utilities, drainage, structures, pavements, lighting, landscaping, and other infrastructure works.
  • Monitor roadwork activities against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate construction sequencing for earthworks, subgrade, capping, sub-base, base course, asphalt, kerbs, footpaths, and associated works.
  • Coordinate with Survey teams to verify alignments, levels, profiles, gradients, and road geometry.
  • Monitor roadwork progress and coordinate with Planning teams to ensure activities remain aligned with the approved schedule.
  • Identify construction constraints, interface issues, and potential delays affecting roadworks.
  • Coordinate resolution of RFIs, Technical Queries, design clarifications, and site issues related to roads.
  • Coordinate with Utilities teams to ensure underground services are completed and protected before road construction.
  • Coordinate road crossings, utility corridors, drainage crossings, and interfaces with existing infrastructure.
  • Support review of contractor roadwork method statements and construction proposals.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure required inspections and testing are completed.
  • Monitor testing requirements for subgrade, fill, compaction, aggregate, asphalt, and pavement layers.
  • Coordinate material approvals and ensure approved materials are available for construction.
  • Support investigation and resolution of roadwork defects, settlement, soft spots, pavement failures, and other construction issues.
  • Coordinate roadwork changes and ensure approved design revisions are communicated to construction teams.
  • Maintain roadwork interface registers, action trackers, and coordination records.
  • Participate in technical coordination meetings, construction meetings, progress meetings, and site inspections.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure work fronts are properly planned and managed.
  • Monitor interfaces between permanent and temporary roadworks and construction access requirements.
  • Support the closeout of roadwork punch-list items, inspections, testing, and handover documentation.

Airport / Infrastructure & Airfield Responsibilities

  • Coordinate roadworks associated with airport terminals, landside facilities, airside roads, service roads, access roads, parking areas, and external infrastructure.
  • Coordinate interfaces between airport roads and airfield infrastructure including taxiways, aprons, gates, and operational areas.
  • Ensure road construction activities consider airport operational constraints, access requirements, and phased construction.
  • Coordinate roadworks with drainage, utilities, street lighting, traffic systems, signage, barriers, and security infrastructure.
  • Support coordination of roads within restricted and operational airport environments.
  • Coordinate temporary and permanent access arrangements required for construction activities.
  • Support roadwork coordination for major infrastructure and external development packages.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain roadwork coordination trackers and interface registers.
  • Monitor progress of roadwork activities and report key issues to the Construction / Project Management team.
  • Coordinate weekly lookahead activities with contractors and planning teams.
  • Track outstanding design information, approvals, materials, inspections, and construction constraints.
  • Provide regular updates on roadwork progress, risks, interfaces, and required actions.
  • Support preparation of weekly and monthly project reports.
  • Maintain records of roadwork coordination meetings, actions, technical queries, and decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in road construction, infrastructure, civil works, or roadwork coordination.
  • Experience on major infrastructure, airport, airfield, transportation, or large-scale development projects is preferred.
  • Good understanding of road construction methods, pavement systems, earthworks, drainage, and utilities.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary roadwork interfaces.
  • Ability to read and interpret road design drawings, profiles, cross-sections, specifications, and construction details.
  • Experience with roadwork inspections, testing, and quality requirements.
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing and project schedules.
  • Experience working with Contractors, Consultants, Client representatives, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant road and pavement standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering / project management systems.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
