Lead Inclusive Learning, Belonging and Student Success

Cardijn College invites Expressions of Interest from current staff for the role of Assistant Leader Diverse Learning – Galilee Campus. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator who is committed to inclusive education and ensuring all students can access meaningful and engaging learning opportunities. The successful applicant will play a key leadership role in supporting students with diverse learning needs and strengthening a culture of belonging, inclusion and personalised learning across Galilee Campus.

About the Role

The Assistant Leader Diverse Learning is responsible for supporting the oversight of learning programs and adjustments for students with additional learning needs across Galilee Campus. Working in partnership with the Leader of Diverse Learning and the Diverse Learning Team, the role supports students who experience learning difficulties or require additional adjustments to access the curriculum successfully. The Assistant Leader Diverse Learning provides guidance to teachers and Education Support Officers in developing inclusive learning environments and implementing effective curriculum modifications, assessment adjustments and personalised learning plans.

The successful applicant will lead key processes relating to student case management, NCCD requirements, transitions, enrolment support and staff professional learning while working closely with families, external providers and allied health professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Support the leadership and coordination of the Diverse Learning Team, including teachers and Education Support Officers.
  • Assist in leading Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) processes, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance and evidence collection.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of Personalised Plans for Learning (PPLs) and other student support plans.
  • Assist in the oversight and case management of students with diagnosed or imputed disabilities and additional learning needs.
  • Support enrolment, transition and induction processes for students entering Galilee Campus.
  • Review student assessments, specialist reports and supporting documentation to inform personalised educational responses.
  • Support teachers in implementing curriculum adjustments, differentiation strategies and inclusive assessment practices.
  • Lead professional learning opportunities that build staff capability in inclusive education and diverse learning practices.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and Education Support Officers to ensure students can access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Assist in developing learning pathways that support student growth, independence and future success.
  • Liaise with families, CESA consultants, allied health professionals and external agencies to support student learning and wellbeing.
  • Lead and develop effective processes for working collaboratively with external providers and support services.
  • Oversee examination and assessment adjustments, including special provisions where appropriate.
  • Support responses to critical incidents involving students with diverse learning needs.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.

You will be a collaborative, compassionate and student-centred leader who demonstrates:

  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and equitable learning opportunities for all students.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs within a school setting.
  • Sound knowledge of curriculum adjustments, differentiated teaching and personalised learning approaches.
  • Experience developing and implementing support plans for students with additional learning needs.
  • Knowledge of NCCD processes and disability funding requirements.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with students, families, staff and external providers.
  • The ability to lead and support others in implementing inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent organisational, case management and problem-solving skills.
  • High-level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Active support for the Catholic ethos, mission and values of Cardijn College.

Essential Requirements

Current Teacher Registration in South Australia. Accreditation in Catholic Education South Australia. Demonstrated experience in inclusive education, diverse learning or student support. Strong understanding of curriculum adjustments and intervention strategies for students with additional learning needs. Experience working collaboratively with families, allied health professionals and external agencies. Highly developed leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Commitment to maintaining all relevant child safety and employment clearances, including:

  • Working With Children Check
  • Catholic Police Clearance
  • RRHAN-EC Certification
  • Mandatory Notification Training
  • Relevant First Aid Certification
