Help turn evidence into action and shape the next chapter of Vision Zero in Edmonton!
Everyone deserves to move safely. The Safe Mobility section leads Edmonton's commitment to Vision Zero by advancing safer, more predictable and accessible travel throughout the city. Guided by the Safe Mobility Strategy, we use evidence-informed approaches to reduce risk, support safe and welcoming communities and improve how the City plans, designs, operates and renews the mobility network.
Reporting to the Director, Safe Mobility, the General Supervisor, Program Management leads two critical section-wide functions: Program Management and Planning & Monitoring. Together, these teams form a vital link between understanding what is happening on Edmonton’s streets and delivering the improvements that make them safer.
You will lead the people who collect and analyze mobility data, advance innovative monitoring technologies, identify trends, coordinate academic research partnerships, and provide the evidence that informs where and how the City acts. You will also lead the program management function that helps turn those insights and priorities into coordinated delivery, supporting Safety Engineering and Traffic Signals Design and Construction projects through their lifecycle from planning and investment through implementation.
The result is a unique end-to-end leadership opportunity. Your teams will help ensure that Safe Mobility’s work is grounded in evidence, strategically prioritized, effectively resourced, and successfully delivered, whether that means neighbourhood traffic calming, safer crossings, speed management initiatives, or major infrastructure such as traffic signals.
You will join the Safe Mobility leadership team at an exciting point in Edmonton’s Vision Zero journey. The City is advancing its Safe Mobility Strategy 2027–2030 with a targeted, place-based approach focused on neighbourhoods, schools, major roads and intersections and a continued commitment to evidence-informed decision-making and the Safe System approach.
The work of the teams you lead will be foundational to turning that strategy into results Edmontonians can see and experience on their streets.
